Anyone else seen/have this issue on their efile where your compnay headers are printing this A 1234568ABCDEF info instead of the correct info needed to correctly efile? The IRS is obviously rejecting it

Hello,

Just to rule it out… Do you see any fake data entered in 1099 Settings tab of Companies or Branches screen?

it’s on all of our 1099-MISC files so they are all different. Some of these are blank - some just have the TCC number. One is the same as last year (the first one we did) and that is an issue as well. We have over 35 companies that are filing these

Per IRS Publication 1220 for e-filing and 1099-MISC I think those values are correct.  We have a customer who had that in their file and the IRS accepted it as valid.  I think that just indicates the types of amounts that can be in the file.

@angelaharris37

I can see that you have B amount code corresponding to Golden Parachute payments which cannot longer be filed through the FIRE system. We have made the needed change in the e-filing process in the following versions:

  • 2025 R2 GA (Build 25.200.0248.2)
  • 2025 R1 Service Pack 1 (Build 25.101.0153.5) and later
  • 2025 R1 GA (Build 25.100.0054.7) and later
  • 2024 R2 Update 18 (Build 24.218.0005) and later

If you are not able to upgrade to one of these builds, you can replace '1234568ABCDEF' in positions 28-40 with '1234568ACDEF ' in the txt-file.

The issue has been described in the article:

Thanks Olga - I am on build 24.214.0009 would explain it. We will have them manually change it until we can upgrade it. I don’t follow the IRE Fire items (not a tax acct) just a systems gal…..

Thanks!
