We have just started to pull the log lines from the service appointment to timecards for payroll processing.

Last week someone entered an overtime entry (Earning type ‘TH’) when it should have been normal hours.  We get this error when trying to release the Timecard → ‘An error occured during processing of the field Earning Type value TH. Earning type cannot be updated because this record is related to a released or approved time activity’

The appointment was invoiced but has been credited, however we can’t alter the existing entry.  A suggestion was to enter a new line with a -1 for hours.  We couldn’t get the -1 for TH to work but could get -1 for normal hours to save.  This entry has flowed through to the timecard, but still getting the above error.

Anyone have any ideas how we can get this sorted?

@steph23 Hi!

The way to add a correction on the appointment for a time that was already released is to add on the appointment a new line on the Log tab, with the same information but with a negative amount, to “cancel out” the time recorded for the incorrectly entered time (so this line needs to have the TH earning type). And add a new line on the Log tab, with the correct earning type (over time) and correct time.

However, what you describe seems like an error on the system. Its possible that there is an inconsistency between the information on the time card and the information on the corresponding log. I advise you to check and make sure everything matches. If it doesn’t, update the line on the time card to have the same information as the log line. After this you can attempt to do a correction following the steps from the help.

If this doesn’t work, please raise this case to Acumatica support.
