T190 Quick Start in Customization

Audience: This course is intended for application developers who are starting to learn how to customize Acumatica ERP.

Training Description: The T190 Quick Start in Customization training course shows how to implement the most common scenarios of the customization of Acumatica ERP, such as the creation of custom fields, the validation of the value of a custom field, and the creation of Acumatica ERP entities by using actions.

Training Syllabus: The program is covered over three days as follows:

• Day 1: Creation of a Customization Project and Custom Fields. In this session, you will create a customization project for this training course, load the customization project prepared for the course, bind the customization project to the extension library (which contains the customization source code), and publish this project. Also, you will create a custom column in the database table and a custom field in the data access class for this column. You will also create a control for the custom field.
• Day 2: Creation of Custom Fields and Implementation of the Update and Validation of Field Values. In this session, you will continue creating custom columns, custom fields, including the ones available conditionally, and controls for these columns. You will also modify the business logic of some forms.
• Day 3: Working With Entities and Debugging Customization Code. In this session, you will learn about the usage of the PXLongOperation class, define the action and the related button on one of the forms, and configure the availability of a button. You will learn how to do derive the value for a custom field from another form. You will also learn how to debug the source code of Acumatica ERP.

Partner Certification: This class is based on the materials of the T190 Quick Start in Customization course, which is part of the Mobile Application Developer badge. Completion of this class does not give you an automatic completion of the related course at Partner University; you will still need to complete the exam at Partner University.

*For this training webinar we provide access to the preconfigured environment in Microsoft Azure. This is a pilot project and we are not sure that everything will go smoothly so we would recommend you prepare your local environment in case of an inability to work with the provided virtual machine. See the Advance Preparations section for details.

To provide access to a preconfigured environment for attendees, we need to generate a registration report and perform some activities to deploy virtual machines and send out the credentials. All this takes time and we have to do it several hours before the webinar. So we highly recommend not leaving the registration up to the last minute of the webinar start. Everyone who registers after 6 AM PT of Day 1 session will not receive access to the virtual machines.

Advance Preparations: Prepare the environment for the training course as follows:

• Make sure the environment that you are going to use for the training course conforms to the System Requirements.
• Make sure that the Web Server (IIS) features that are listed in Configuring Web Server (IIS) Features are turned on.
• Install the Acuminator extension for Visual Studio.
• Download the customization project and the source code of the extension library to a folder on your computer.
• Install Acumatica ERP 2019 R2. On the Main Software Configuration page of the installation program, select the Install Acumatica ERP and Install Debugger Tools check boxes.
• Deploy Acumatica ERP instance with I100 company data. Instructions can be found in the training guide of this course
