Hi @TimRodman ,

Thanks for the suggestion.  Given the timeframe it will be pretty high level, but I will touch on this.

Here are questions we didn’t get to that @lauraj46 graciously responded to via email after.

Will there be an intermediate ACM Report Designer webinar?

  • Sure, glad to do this!

Can you show an example of using the .raw on the end of a fieldname for some items that use "TR" for Sales Quote Value.   I have found a few statuses in the system are hard to find these values.

  • I’m not sure what’s meant by ‘.raw’.  You can use Inspect Element and click the ‘Drop-Down Values’ button to see the codes that correspond to the descriptions.

I have the same question as Seth is there an easy way to find the background values. I've had issues in the past and had to search report to try and find the background value

  • You can use Inspect Element and click the ‘Drop-Down Values’ button to see the codes that correspond to the descriptions.

It seems that most of the reports "out of box" are defaulted to A4 paper size.  1. Why is this? 2. Any way to 'wave a magic wand' to update 'all reports' to Letter?

  • True.  I don’t know of a way to wave a magic wand.  You would need to change each report.

If there is a report with multiple subreports, is there an easy way to identify all of the subreports that have been used in the main report?

  • You can use the drop down box on the properties window to find the controls that are subreports.  Or open the rpx file in Notepad and searching for .rpx.

Can you translate report designer into a different language when you "Run Report"?

  • Yes. I have not used this functionality, but I believe that if the Localizable property is true and you have defined the localizations in Acumatica then it can be translated.

How to add a terms and conditions page?

  • Add a section as a report footer.  You can use the Page Break property on the section properties to control pagination.

Method to keep Properties menu layout the same when switching between fields.

  • It will change based on the control type.

Will the slide deck be made available along with the recording?

  • Attached as pdf above under recording.

Can you explain how to set up relationships when joining different data tables in the schema builder?

  • This is done on the Relationships tab.  For beginners, you can learn by starting with an existing report.

Have always had issues trying to pass a total from a subreport back to the main report.  Any suggestions?

  • The syntax is $Subreport_Variable (case sensitive).

Are there any good resources for learning about Joins and relationships?I have been using various SQL websites but I am struggling sometimes to ensure the correct join.

  • I recommend the DAC Schema Browser to find the correct joins.  Another good tool is in the Generic Inquiry screen in Acumatica.  Choose ‘Add Related Table’ and the system will suggest related tables and create the relationship.

Can you share the reports, subreports and versions you were using as examples today so we can play with them along with the recording at a later time?

  • See attached below

Can Report Designer integrate with external tools (Excel, Power BI) or should we stick to Acumatica dashboards for analytics?

  • It can integrate with Power BI and other tools.  This can be a great option depending on requirements.

Do you have any tips for setting excel cell references for multiple subreports, I've had an issue where it's running the results from both subreports together instead of keeping them separate below their related headers?

  • I have not tested this.

Our customer wants a table design on a report instead of alternating colors. Is there a way to format the vertical lines in a way that they adjust in height automatically based on the height of the row? Or is there an alternative design feature we can use (instead on lines)?

When you "save to server" a new version or a new report, do we have to republish existing Customization packages?

  • No

Here are a couple of threads related to splitting notes across multiple pages.  Hope this helps!
