Should the Fedex Integrated Shipping Plugin Automatically Detect Residential Delivery?

Forum|alt.badge.img

We don’t know in advance if a shipping address is business or residential.  We select the Fedex Ground Service and then a residential charge gets tacked on our Fedex invoice after the fact.  This leads to undercharging the customer for shipping.

To avoid undercharging customers for FedEx residential surcharges, you can integrate FedEx address validation into Acumatica to automatically detect residential addresses and apply the correct fees during order entry. Alternatively, implement a custom rule that adds a residential charge to FedEx Ground shipments when applicable. Using the FedEx Rate Request API can also ensure live rates, including surcharges, are applied before order completion. Additionally, customizing shipping methods to prompt checks for residential addresses and clearly communicating potential surcharges to customers can help prevent discrepancies.

@chameera71 - we have address validation enabled in our project.  How do I add the parameter in Acumatica?  The plus sign in greyed out.
