Purpose of Calendar under Customer record

Work calendars are used by activity/time-card logic to choose a working date/start time and calculate overtime when an activity is tied to a project task or case for that customer location. 

In the shipments and sales orders, the calendar logic is not used.

hi ​@vshashkova , thanks for your response. So in that case if I’m looking where whenever the sales orders is created the Shipment should be generate for Monday. How can I set this up out of the box?

​@Harry there are no special settings to do it out of the box automatically but you can try to set up an import scenario to update it. 

I disagree with the notion that this isn’t a standard function. I also disagree that it is tied to cases and projects. Calendar entry is specifically in the Shipping Instructions area of the customer/location record. It is absolutely an instruction of when to ship.

The Help guide suggests that this, combined with Ship Via settings, should update the sales order ship on date.

I’m certain that I’ve used this for a customer in an earlier version.
