Client has a Physical Inventory Type with Generation Method = By Inventory, and Select Method = List Of Items. When the PI is in Data Entering Status, they are not able to count new Items that were not in the original List of Items due to warning “Combination of selected Inventory Item and Warehouse Location is not allowed for this Physical Count.”

Is there a way to count new Items or is this is how this PI Type is supposed to work?

Thanks

Correct, you can only add items (and combine them with location) if they are on the PI type.

If the item code is added after the PI has been generated, can you still add it to the PI? Doesn’t seem to work.

It honestly seems like whoever designed this at Acumatica worked on designing the bells and whistles and didn’t get the important part of this process developed.

Crazy to me that the Full Inventory Count is grays out adding items with 0 book inventory.

When you are counting inventory you are ALWAYS going to encounter items that you physically count but have no book value for.

I hope in the future there’s a focus on the fundamentals of an ERP and less about fancy features that become useless when the fundamentals don’t work correctly.

I can receive these products in but very frustrating to have these hacky solutions for something that should’ve been considered a basic function of any system counting inventory.
