How can the Mixed Order (Sales Order Type of MO) process a shipment for the item being issued?

The customer walks in to the counter to return and replace an item.  The replacement item must be picked and processed in the warehouse but the mixed order type cannot do a shipment  Using the RMA order type requires a Receipt to be processed.  There is not a desire to go thru the entire shipping process for the receipt, just return it to the default RMA bin (MO orders DO NOT default the location to the RMA location which is a bug).

Client decided to create a CM for the item being returned and create a new sales order for the replacement.  The customer is returning an item they bought to the showroom counter so there is no need to create an RMA order, create the “shipment”, confirm it, prepare and release the invoice when a simple CM will return the goods and credit the customer.  This is a large wholesale and retail operation where customer visits the showroom to select the products.  The orders are fulfilled in the warehouse which requires picking, confirming the shipment. and either bring it to the showroom or have the customer pick it up at the dock..

@dgodsill97 hi! Could you clarify a bit what’s the shipment for if the customer came to the store so there is no actual shipment?

Customer did the workaround.  I did not bother to create support ticket for CM and MO orders not using the RMA location defined for the warehouse.
