Entering a Physical Inventory Count days post the count

Hi there,

We have a client who completes a monthly material stockcount, but they have distributed sites and often the stock count sheets aren’t received until the midway through the next morning or even a day later i.e., 1st/ 2nd.

When the PI Counts are entered in Acumatica, it is hard-set to force the day of the count being the system date i.e., the current local date, and there is no way to adjust this from my understanding, unless going down the customisation route. 

This obviously causes issues because the count sheets will all be say the 31st of the month, but Acumatica will be calculating the balances as at the date of entry i.e., the 1st/ 2nd, which can causes Acumatica to attempt to incorrect adjustments.

Is that correct, and/ or has anyone seen any way to handle the above scenario?

    The issue usually happens when the Physical Inventory is not frozen on the actual count date (e.g., 31st). In Acumatica, you should create and freeze the Physical Inventory on the count date (31st), then enter the counts later (1st or 2nd). The system will still calculate based on the frozen date, so no incorrect adjustments will occur.

      Hi NNT,

      For this client, the issue is that they don’t want to freeze inventory operations until the count sheets have been returned a day or so later. So, they want to be able to essentially want the ability to set the date for the PI count back in the past so they can enter the results and have it calculate the inventory balance at that point i.e., 

      • 31/03 is when the count is completed
      • Finance Operations team don’t receive the count sheet for a site until the 02/04
      • FinOps wants to be able to enter the count values as at 31/03 without freezing inventory operations until then due to business as usual.
