Easy Post - Moving to Monthly Billing?

Hello -

I’ve been using the EasyPost integration for many years without much issue.  Recently, I’ve started receiving emails from EasyPost stating that I need to elect to use either their free account (which does not allow me to use my own FedEx/UPS account #’s) or pay $20/month to continue to be able to use my own courier accounts.

A number of years ago, when Acumatica was pushing us from using the native FedEx/UPS integration into EasyPost, they stated that there would be no fees associated with the use of EasyPost in conjunction with Acumatica.

The Acumatica marketplace page for EasyPost still states “Create a free account and start shipping with dozens of carriers. No fees on 120,000 packages per year, and your first $500 is on EasyPost.”

I’m being told by EasyPost that if I do no enable the $20/mo billing, then my carrier accounts will be disabled until I select an option - which will obviously cause disruption to my business.

Can Acumatica provide some clarity to this situation?  Apparently this new policy is enforced by EasyPost starting on 15-Sept-2025.

I have followed up with EasyPost and they confirmed that the Acumatica page is out of date and the free account no longer applies if you want to use your own carrier account.  Quite disappointing, especially as this was the solution Acumatica encouraged us to move to a few years ago.

We have the same issue after using UPS through EasyPost successfully since Dec 2022. Our VAR suggested using the embedded UPS Rest integration which we have done for a little over a week. We have found 2 issues:

  • Collect shipments are sent to UPS as third party instead of bill receiver. Turns out this is a known issue in 2024 R2 which we are on and is fixed in 2025 R2 which was just released. No hot fix and we are not ready to move to the new release.
  • Collect shipments to Canada error out saying CAD is not found. We do NOT use any currency other than USD, so this error is preventing us from shipping collect to CA. No response as yet from Acumatica on why this is not working.

For the short term, we are going to revert back to EasyPost and unhappily pay the fees. (NOTE: This is not an instant change; we are still having trouble getting the UPS carrier reactivated in EasyPost and then the Service Method in the Ship Via codes need to be changed back to the EasyPost code.)

Just a warning for EasyPost users contemplating a change to the UPS Rest integration. We made the change, ran into the issues listed above and now have been unsuccessfully trying to go back to the EasyPost integration for over a week. Multiple tech support attempts at a solution, but the integration is still unable to connect to the EasyPost carrier.

In hindsight, we should have just paid the fees and not even tried the UPS Rest integration. In addition to the two issues above, it also does NOT transmit the electronic invoice when shipping to CA which EasyPost did. We now have to print a paper copy and include it with the package.

Just an update, EP is offering two billing options now. Below is communication from them on the change.
