is it possible to create a contract from a sales order?
For example: I sell software for a monthly fee. I have the non-stock item “software usage” in my sales order. Can I now create a contract based on the sales order?

Customer Contracts after executing "RUN CONTRACT BILLING" the system will create Invoice.
Previously I have customized the Generic Inquiry "Customer Contracts" to have some information as desired.
You can customize the Generic Inquiry "Customer Contracts" to connect to the Sales Order.
Or you can try using Business Event to create a contract based on the Sales Order.

In Acumatica standard it isn’t possible to create contract from sales order, right? → YES
As you can see, the contract process in Acumatica follows this sequence: Customer Contracts -> Run "RUN CONTRACT BILLING" -> Invoices and Memos. You won’t see Sales Orders anywhere in this flow. This means that the current "Contract Management" module in Acumatica is designed to handle service-type contracts only, so there are no Sales Orders or Shipments involved. Therefore, you will need to implement some customizations to meet your specific requirements.
