Hello,

There is a Acumatica customer that is about to reach the end value of their ARINVOICE sequence.

What is the best way to expand this sequence number range and what are the pros and cons?

Hi @thomassherman51

I have a second option for you. Since the last number is 999898 => I will create a new number starting with 0999899

Best Regards,

NNT

Hi @thomassherman51

The old Numbering Sequences have 6 digits. Let's create new Numbering Sequences with 8 or 9 digits.
In the Numbering Sequences screen => delete the old row and create a new row as below.

Hi @thomassherman51

What is the best way to expand this sequence number range and what are the pros and cons? => If you set more digits, the "Reference Nbr." field on Acumatica's standard screens or reports will be obscured. So I recommend creating Numbering Sequences with 8 digits.

NNT

Hello @nhatnghetinh, thanks for your suggestion. We are considering changing the current sequence to seven digits, Option 1, as reflected in the image below.

Since the Reference Number is a The impact naturally will be reflected when sorting on the reference number on lists on reports. The 7 digit reference numbers starting with ‘0’ and ‘1’ will be at the top despite them being of a higher numeric value than those with 6 digits.
