I recently started encountering this error when using the /Payment API endpoint to create new payments or sometimes the /Payment/Release action:

Another process has added the 'ARRegister' record. Please try again.

My requests haven’t changed, so I assume it’s something server-side. Can anyone point me in the right direction for tracking down where the problem is coming from? Thank you!

Hi @dominicfedco ,

When multiple processes attempt to modify the same `ARRegister` record in Acumatica, you may encounter the error:  "Another process has added the 'ARRegister' record. Please try again.

> Check for recent customization packages that were published in the instance, as they might introduce conflicting updates.

> Review any scheduled processes or Business Events that update Payment records, as they might be causing concurrent modifications.

Hi @jinin - I am having the same issue and it is happening when I am trying to release an AR Payment and when saving a reconciliation. Do you think republishing customizations will resolve the issue?

Hi @MarkD ,

Before republishing, please check the following items:

  • Is any automation schedule running?
  • Is the same document opened by another user?
  • Check whether any customization has overridden ARPayment or CATran events (e.g., RowInserted, RowUpdated, Persist, Persisting).

@jinin

  • Is any automation schedule running? - There is and there is warning message on the new customization added by Admin. Customization is: Generate Models for Text Completion
  • Is the same document opened by another user? - Nope
  • Check whether any customization has overridden ARPayment or CATran events (e.g., RowInserted, RowUpdated, Persist, Persisting). - There are BEs in the system related to Invoices, but how do I know which one is causing an issue?

Hi @MarkD ,

  • Since an automation schedule is running and shows a warning for the new customization, try disabling that schedule and test again — it may be locking the record.

  • To find which customization is causing the issue, check Customization Project Editor → search for event handlers on ARPayment or CATran (RowUpdated/RowInserted / Persist/Persisting).

  • You can also use Trace to identify the exact project.

  • Republishing may help only if the customization was partially deployed, but it won’t fix event-handler logic issues.

Hi @jinin - The error is only happening sometimes. To clarify, there are automation schedules running but all of them are working except for the new one that Acumatica has introduced due to upgrade. That new automation schedule is called Generate Models for Text Completion and there is a warning where it says “The record has been skipped due to lack of training data.” - Though I am not sure if this is causing the issue as it looks like this automation schedule only runs once a week at 1am, so unlikely to be the cause of the issue?

Below are the only customizations. There is no actual customization on CATran screen, so not sure which customization I should be checking. There is customization though for AR301000, should I have a look at it?

Hi @MarkD ,

You can start by unpublishing all the customization packages and then check whether the system works without any issues.
If it works fine, you can publish the packages one by one to identify which specific package is causing the error.
Once the problematic package is identified, you can investigate it further to find the root cause.

Hi @jinin - Unfortunately, the error only happens randomly and it happens 2 to 3 times per week without knowing when it will pop up. The user realized that if someone was working in the same month the error was coming up. As a workaround, they are not reconciling on the same date when users are working. I’m thinking Business Events are triggering the error as per my screenshot above?

Hi @MarkD ,

I’m not exactly sure. In this situation, identifying the root cause of the issue is difficult. 😊
