Hello all,

I have been looking out for ways where I have around 10 reports and I am looking that no one should be able to modify it. Not even a user who has the role assigned as Report Designer. How can I achieve this?

Thanks.

Hi @Harry

+ For normal Users, if you do not assign the Role "ReportDesigner" permission, they will not be able to edit the reports.
+ For Users who have the role assigned as Report Designer -> You create Access Rights so that these Users do not see those 10 reports. When you want these Users to edit these 10 reports, you assign the reports permission for them to edit -> after editing, you lock the report permission for them.

Best Regards,

NNT

Hi @Harry

Please create a New User” Report not Accessible” and set the access rights for the user which control to access the report.

Navigate to access rights by role and copy the role and set the permissions as per the business needs

To ensure that specific reports cannot be modified by any user, including those with the "Report Designer" role in Acumatica ERP, you can take the following steps:

1. Set Report Permissions: Modify the report's file permissions directly within the Acumatica file system to make them read-only. This will prevent any changes from being saved to the report files.

2. Use Access Rights: In Acumatica, navigate to `Access Rights by Screen` and restrict access to the reports for the "Report Designer" role. You can set the access level to "View Only" or even "Hidden" for those specific reports, preventing them from opening in the Report Designer.

3. Custom Roles: Create a custom role with specific permissions that exclude report editing capabilities. Assign this role to users who should have access to view the reports but not edit them.

4. Lock Reports via Code: If you have development capabilities, consider locking the reports programmatically using custom code. This would involve overriding certain functionality to ensure reports are not editable by anyone.

By implementing these measures, you can effectively protect your reports from any modifications, ensuring data integrity and consistency across your organization.

Hey @chameera71 ,

Thank you for your suggestion. Can you guide me as to how can I setup the first point you’d mentioned? I tried on Access Rights by User, but it doesnt allow to modify the rights. I also tried using Access rights by Role, but it only has 2 options - Granted and Revoked.
For reports, it only displays these 2 rights.
