Question

Cannot add customiztions projects 25R1

I am a newbie, so forgive me if the answer to this question is trivial.

I created customisation projects before with no issue.

Now, I am trying to create a customization project, but the + button is disabled.

I am doing this as an admin on a development environment on my notebook.

Admin access right on SM204505 is edit.

What am I missing?

@Itsik add the “Customizer” role in your user.

User > Role > Customizer

Hello Itsik,

Don't worry, this is a common hurdle when moving to a new version like 25R1. If your user has 'Edit' rights to the screen but the add button is still disabled, please check the following:

  • License Restrictions: Ensure your Acumatica license includes the Customization Engine. On some development or "trial" licenses, customization features might be disabled by default. You can check this in the License Monitoring (SM201510) screen.

  • Tenant Level Permissions: Even as an admin, check if you are logged into a Production tenant versus a Test/Sandbox tenant. Some environments are configured to disable the creation of new projects directly in the Production tenant to force a "dev-to-prod" workflow.

  • Project Status: Ensure there isn't a "Publishing" or "Cleanup" process currently running in the background. If the system is busy processing a previous customization, it will temporarily lock the screen.

  • Browser Cache: Since you mentioned it's a new environment on your notebook, try clearing your browser cache or opening the site in an Incognito window. Sometimes old session data from previous versions can interfere with the button UI in 25R1.

I hope this helps you start your customization project!

I believe my issue is indeed related to access rights.

The most straightforward, simplest solution was to create another instance with SalesDemo added.

I am running Acumatica in trial mode, so no license is required. Also not running a production tenant.

@Itsik ,
   Hi,
You need to assign the Customizer role to that user and then set the permission for this role to Delete in Access Rights. Hope this will work.

If you have the AcumaticaSupport role, disable it. It worked for me.
