Hi All,

We are encountering an error in the newly upgraded hosted site (version 25 R1).

Could you please advise if there is a way to resolve this issue, or let us know what might be causing it?

Error : “The type name 'HttpClient' could not be found in the namespace 'System.Net.Http'. This type has been forwarded to assembly 'System.Net.Http, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' Consider adding a reference to that assembly.”

Im using nuget package in a customization.earlier version was leser to this.

Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Lalith

@Lalith you can request the update via a support case.

Another thing to try would be compiling the customization code into a dll and deploying it like that.

hi @Lalith you can try this to update a website to able to update all dll files. and then remove a nuget packages added on your customization.

Hi @Lalith

This error occurs because the System.Net.Http assembly is not referenced in the customization project.
Add System.Net.Http.dll to the project references, then rebuild and compile the customization code.
After a successful build, deploy the customization again.

Once the reference is added, the HttpClient type will be resolved correctly.
hope above helps !!

hi @Lalith ,
Try removing the NuGet packages from your customization project first, as they might be causing version conflicts with the core assemblies of the new version.

After that, manually add the reference: go to References -> Add Reference and select System.Net.Http.dll. Then, perform a Rebuild and Compile of your customization code.

This should resolve the 'HttpClient' type error.
