Activity Events - not in Projects

There is a nice feature in Acumatica called Activity Events. They are available in many places except the Project module. Why ?Events can invite using emailing, which is nice. IF the standard toolbar was used , then Activity Events would be available. See case 5080141. ( only available on Project Quote)It should be on the Project Activity, Project Task Activity, Project Issue; Project Templates ( so that we can put standard activity) for new projects.

Add the Ability to track Subcontract Change Order Number on the Change Order form

On the Change Order form, it is helpful to have the ability to create Owner and Commitment Change Orders and revise the budgets in one form. However, the change order form tracks the Revenue Change Order number. We also need the ability to track the Commitment Change Order number. The Change Order to the Customer is rarely the same change order number to the subcontractor or supplier. Also, there could be multiple commitments on one Change Order reference number. Each one of these commitments will more than likely have a different change order number.

We are struggling when setting up rate tables for our clients Construction heavy equipment. The rate code has no data behind it, and we are unsure how we are able to get the data into system. (See attached image)

As a subcontractor, what is the best way to track opportunities sent to multiple bidders?

We are a subcontractor working on our initial Acumatica set-up. We send out multiple quotes daily to several customers and need a way to track/follow-up on the progression of the quote from bid to project award. This could mean reaching out to several different tiers (Arch, GC, EC, etc). Additionally, we need to be able to see all opportunities that have been sent to a specific customer, whether they were awarded the project or not. We looked at setting up the bidders under Opportunity/Relations, however the only opportunity records that show under the Opportunities tab, in the Business Account, are the ones that the customer is specifically listed as the Business Account in the Opportunity. Are there any other subcontractors that have dealt with this? What was your workaround?

Looking for construction scheduling software that connects with Acumatica

We are in need of a scheduling software that we can integrate with Acumatica. For some background, we are production builders so will be working off of pre-determined schedules for a full-home build. We need to be able to show the variance of projected versus actual schedule, and ideally be able to alert our trades through this scheduling piece, and approve POs and EPOs from the field. Export Scenario synchronization with AWS S3

I want to synchronize files generated with export scenario with a SFTP we have in Amazon S3. Is there any documentation available for that or example I can use to get this going?I created the SFTP in AWS S3 and can access it with no problems with WINSCP or similar tool, but not sure how can configure it in Acumatica.

Remove/Hide all Records from Cost Code Selection

Hi,If a user has selected a incorrect account (which is not available in the relevant account group) in a data entry form for a specific project(Bill ,GL Transaction, Invoice), in the cost codes selection window there will no cost codes available in the project codes filter. In this case, users move to the all records and select the cost code which create an additional cost budget line with a default cost code. When creating this kind of transaction system shows a warning but allowed to process further.How can we stop processing this kind of transactions. Thank you,Dulanjana

Does Acumatica have another way to assign Projects to Work Groups at the Project Level other than Approval Maps

Does Acumatica have another way to assign Projects to Work Groups at the Project Level other than Approval Maps. I would have assumed a Work Group or PM (assigned at the project level) could follow an AP Approval WorkFlow without users have to go into Approval Maps. Is there another way to assure WorkGroup AP Bill Approval routing can be achieved.

Cost layer and To Cost Layer columns in Transfers annoying/unecessary PLEASE UN-update

With the latest update I am now required to enter the “Cost Layer” column and “To Cost Layer” column for transfers to projects as either Normal or Project. I cannot imagine how requiring this field helps anyone. The cost layer was formerly IMPLIED by entering the actual origin in the Project column and the destination To Project column. It seems to me that the only thing these columns do is limit you from selecting the project you want unless you select “Project”. No one is asking for even more tedious columns per line item. I already am required to enter the task and cost code for every line, without being given the option of having a default task and project per stock item. Now I have TWO MORE columns that I didn't ask for, it just slows down entry across the board, and that’s all I can see these columns accomplishing for me.

What is the maximum limit for the number of cost budget lines/tasks that can be added to a project?

Hello all, I was wondering if there is a maximum limit to the number of cost budget lines that can be added to projects? One of the projects had around 200-250 tasks( mostly 250) and when we tried to add another cost budget line/ task and save, we got the following error : Just want to know if there is a limit to the number of lines that can be added to a project cost budget or tasks. And if there is a limit, can it be increased?

Use a Sales Order (transfer type) to create a transfer order for project inventory

Is it possible to create a transfer order in Sales Order for the supply of inventory for a project?The transfer form allows for a warehouse to be selected and then the field below is “project” but it seems to accept nothing bu project X.Project inventory is enabled and the project setting for inventory tracking is by location. is it possible to turn off project tasks from defaulting in certain modules?

We have specified a default task at the Construction > Project level so that individuals entering time don’t have to bother with a task.However this delegates to everything. Our accounts payable team has to manually tab back after selecting the project and change the task in modules such as Bills and Adjustments.I know there is coding that tells it to look for default task selection and insert if yes but don’t have experience with modifying to that degree.

G/L Accounts not auto populating in A/P Bills and Adjustments for Construction Projects

I have a question that was brought up by a client. When we setup a project and it’s linked to a Task Code and Cost Code, why does it not auto populate the Account under Bills & Adjustments after a project, project task and cost code are selected? Is there a setting I need to do to make this happen or would we need a customization? Here is a screenshot. On the Project Level under Defaults, I defaulted the Task to the account code. That didn’t work either. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks,Frances

Project Summary Tab- within the Project

It would be very useful to have a single tab within the Project that pulled in key metrics that every project manager needs to be aware. All of this information exists in Acumatica- but not in one place where a PM can get an overview. On this tab I would want the following metrics:Current Contract Value, Budgeted Cost, Projected Cost at Completion, Gross Margin Budget, Gross Margin Projected, Billed to Date, Open AR, Cost to Date, Open AP, Overbilled/Underbilled status, Committed Costs, Earned Revenue, Earned Margin

Billing Rates by Earning Types

Hello,I have a client using Acumatica payroll and Construction. The client also has Union payroll. On T&M billed projects, they bill labor dependent on the 3 below items:Labor item (Journeyman, Foreman, General Foreman) Earning Type (RG, OT, DT) Union (SheetMetal, Carpenters, etc)The current Rate Tables in Acumatica only go as far as Inventory item. I know I could create a non-stock item for each rate type and union, but that’s not feasible for this client.I have created a very long IIF statement in the billing rule that works but it’s too long, the system cuts it off after 4000 characters. Is there a way to create a Rate table based off of these 3 items that I’m not seeing?

Processing Documents with DocuSign

I have DocuSign configured and working. Here is my question - when processing a document, such as Subcontracts, do I have to print the subcontract to a .pdf, then attach the file to the form in Acumatica, then click Files, then Edit then ESIGN?Is there an easier way to get the document attached to the Files without saving as a pdf first?

Can we use RFI Functionality with Subcontractors to Update Task Status?

Trying to figure out the most effective design for collaborating with our subcontractors on schedule / task management. Let’s use lighting fixtures as the example. Lets say our project schedule says our sub should be completing 25 fixtures a day for the next 5 days. We want the sub to update their status on a daily basis and tell us how many they actually completed. Let’s say Monday they completed 22 but ran into problems. Then Tuesday they completed 26, Wednesday 26, Thursday 26, and Friday 25. Would RFI be the right functionality in Project Management to get this information from the subcontractor?I’m thinking we create an RFI and assign it to the sub with scheduled tasks. We email the RFI to the sub and they would then go into Acumatica to update their actual completions against the RFI. Am I thinking about this the right way or is there a more elegant solution?

Include Segmented Keys into Inquiry

Hi All, I am currently working on an Inquiry for a Dashboard where I need to group by a certain Segment.I did it once before with Inventory Subaccounts: Yet, now I am working with Projects and the Contract CD Field is segmented.I tried it this way, yet get the error that PMProject.ContractCD_Segment1 is not existing.Does anybody know how to properly incorporate the Segmented Keys here? If this helps, the Alias is referring to the CS.Segment Table
