There is a nice feature in Acumatica called Activity Events. They are available in many places except the Project module. Why ?
Events can invite using emailing, which is nice.
IF the standard toolbar was used , then Activity Events would be available.
See case 5080141. ( only available on Project Quote)
It should be on the Project Activity, Project Task Activity, Project Issue; Project Templates ( so that we can put standard activity) for new projects.

Thanks for posting this. You do have Activities on Projects. Perhaps your tab is hidden or I am missing something here?
You also have Activities on Commitments in Projects (PO & Subcontracts). See PO screencap below w/ highlights. Project Invoices also have Activities as well (Both ProForma & AR Invoices) and Change Orders have Activities.
Just an FYI, Activities is on all of the Project Management module transaction types except for Daily Field Reports. Project Issues, RFIs, Photo Logs, Submittals and Drawing Logs each has Activities. Screen cap of Project Issues below w/ an Activity.
Please let me know if you are referring to something else.

The Create Event is not available on Project or Project Tasks.
Yes in Project Quotes; no in Project Issues
To link an Event to Project Issue, you need to create event in Events, then click on related entity, click on Project Issue, click on Issue. very cumbersome
