I have a client who wants their monthly invoices sent to one email as an excel and another email as a PDF. I’ve tried to set this up on their Customer profile but it isn’t working - only the Excels are being received. What am I missing here?

The Recipients tab is used to add multiple recipients to one email, but unfortunately, it is not used to send two separate emails with different files attached.
Then, to achieve the needed result, I’d suggest considering customizing the email notification for Invoices

I’m not sure if, thoug,h Mailing&Printing set up is possible to separate emails or with attached two copies of the report in different formats, but it’s definitely possible through Business Events
To send separate emails with reports in different formats, you should do the following:
Create a Business Event that will be triggered at the needed point (for example, status change to Open) and subscriber 2 Email Notifications, where in the Attached Reports tab, you will add the needed report with PDF format on the 1st one and Excel format on the 2nd one and datafields with needed recepients respectively. As a result, two emails will be generated by the system with attached reports in PDF format in the first and Excel format in the second.
Also, you can send both reports in one email, if needed, using a similar approach but adding both reports into a single email notification with all needed recipients
