Hi,

Client has raised a scenario where the current approval workflow is set to require approval by the project maanger. However, due to the high transaction volume, they are seeking an alternative solution. Specifically, they want a shared approval process where some AP bills can be approved by the Project Admin, while others can be approved by the Project Manager.

Essentially, they are requesting a shared approval mechanism where either the Project Admin or the Project Manager can approve transactions.

I have reviewed the system settings and, aside from the option to reassign approvals, I couldn’t identify any other configurations to accommodate this scenario. Is there a system setting or alternative approach we can implement to support this approval workflow?

Hello,

Company Tree may be configured with two people on the same node or branch: Project Admin and Project Admin on one WorkGroup. Only one approver in the group needs to approve each invoice. Use the Work group in place of ‘employee from document’ shown above.

Search this community for approval, company tree,  workgroup, etc. to see examples.

Adding an example for you:

Company tree with two possible approvers in the Accounting Dept:

Approval Map routes some documents to the Accounting Dept. WorkGroup shown above.

Laura’s solution above would be one option, but since I’m assuming that the PM can vary from project to project and the admins may not be in the same workgroups as the PMs, another option would be to have 2 nodes within a single approval step (you’d need to split some things into different steps based on what I can see today).  Within the Step, have one node with the PM and one with the Admin and the “On Approval” settings on both nodes set to “Complete Step” and then it would just collect 1 of the 2 approvals.

HI @meganfriesen37 :- Yes, that's correct—PM can vary from project to project, and the admin will assign the employee into the approval map. I'll try your suggested solution, as I believe it might work by setting up two nodes: one for the PM and one for the admin, with the approval settings for both nodes set to complete steps.

@Laura02 and @meganfriesen37 appreciate your response to my post .

Thanks .
