Meet Jini Nickelson our Acumatica Community Featured Member for September 2026. It’s great to have you as part of the Acumatica Community @jinin!

Hi everyone! I'm Jini, from Tamil Nadu in southern India.

When I was asked to share a little about myself as this month’s Featured Member, I wasn’t quite sure where to begin. So I decided to start with the questions I’m asked most often — about my journey with Acumatica, my work, and what keeps me around after all these years.

The first one is almost always about the eleven years. I joined Kensium 11 years ago and I'm still here, which in this industry usually earns a raised eyebrow. The honest answer is that the work kept changing even though the logo didn't — different products, different customers, different problems every year. I never had to leave to find something new to learn.

What we build, for those who ask, sits in the space between systems. I'm a Sr. Manager for the Engineering ERP team, and my team works on integrations and customizations in Acumatica — custom endpoints, connectors, generic inquiries, business logic that has to survive the next upgrade. That last part is the part I care about most. Anyone can make something work on go-live day. Making it still work two releases later, when someone else is maintaining it, is the actual job.

People also ask why I spend time answering questions in a public forum when there's plenty of work already. Because five years ago I was the one asking. Almost everything I post here comes out of a real project — we hit a wall, we found a way around it, and three months later someone posts the same question. Twenty minutes of my time saves them two days. That trade is obviously worth it. And selfishly, explaining something forces me to actually understand it, so I've learned as much from writing answers as from reading them.

The MVP question comes up too — whether the fourth one feels different from the first. Less nervous, more grateful, is the best way I can put it. The first felt like being let into a room. This one feels more like being trusted to help keep the lights on in it. I'm truly honored that the Acumatica team recognizes contribution the way they do. I also owe a real thank you to the management team at Kensium, because community work takes time, and having leadership that encourages it rather than merely permitting it is the reason any of this has been possible.

Outside of Acumatica, I enjoy traveling and cooking—usually in that order. Every trip inspires me to recreate the dishes I discover, with YouTube as my go-to cooking guide. The results may not always taste like the original, but experimenting in the kitchen is part of the fun.

Most importantly, I love spending time with my family and my kids. They’re my biggest source of joy and a constant reminder that life is about more than solving problems, meeting deadlines, or building scalable architectures—it’s about being present and enjoying the little moments together.

The last question is one I get from people who've been reading here for months without ever posting, and my answer is always the same: post it anyway. The question you think is too basic is the one three other people silently searched for last week. And when you eventually find your own answer, come back and post that too. That's the whole engine of this place.

Thanks for reading — if you're working on Acumatica integrations or customizations, come find me. I'd genuinely like to hear what you're building.
