Dashboard Widget from multiple GI

Forum|alt.badge.img

Is it possible to create a Widget in a dashboard that can pull from more than one GI? I have 4 GI that I want to utilize for pulling data into 3 Widgets. The main GI is an All contacts GI allowing me to pull the total number of Business accounts tied to a user and the other 3 GI count contacts which have a minimum of 3 fillable fields with some value in them (I created these GI with a custom DAC to get that filter to work through SQL).

so the goal I have is to have a live view showing the percentage of owned accounts that have a contact meeting the criteria of the other 3 GI for the sake of gathering KPI statistics on our sales reps rather than needing to input the data and doing the calculation outside of Acumatica.

Hi @BrendanL ,

Assuming that the customizations are compatible with the new version, you should be able to just republish them.  Depending on the customization, there can be breaking changes in which case you would need to adjust the customization or get a new version from the ISV.  If you are in a SaaS environment then it’s best practice to request a sandbox before you update so that you can test the customizations.

Hope this helps!

Hi @BrendanL,

As far as I know, a dashboard widget con only reference one GI.  However in 2024 R1, you can use a GI as the source for another GI.  This might make it easier to build the GIs that combine the data to drive your widget.

Hope this helps!

I will need to check in on that, if its possible to link GI together that can be a huge assistance.

@lauraj46 I will need to update our tenant but one of the details of the instructions are unclear. I have to unpublish customizations before doing the update yet it does not state what to do afterwards. do I need to create the customizations again or can they simply be re published after the update?
