I have increased the invoice number length from 15 to 30. It accepts a Reference Number greater than 15 characters, but when I attempt to save, it returns an error: “AR Error: Document with this Invoice Nbr. already exists.”
Please find the attached screenshot for your reference.
Your assistance in resolving this issue would be highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Hello,
In which DACs was the length of the Invoice Reference number increased from 15 to 30?
Changing the length of the Invoice Number, a key field, will require changing the length in many related DACs. Please reference these prior posts where the BOM ids and AP Reference Numbers were being increased.

If you intend to use a numbering sequence with specific characters for a custom field, you must ensure that the field also supports same number of characters. For standard numbering sequences, it is recommended to limit them to 15 characters to avoid impacting existing screens and functionality.
If you plan to use the more than 15 character numbering sequence on existing screens, you will need to customize the corresponding graphs to ensure those fields can accommodate more than 15 characters.
It is essential to carefully review the business logic before implementing this change, as modifying the length of a key field like RefNbr can have significant side effects. The RefNbr field is a primary key in the APRegister table and is referenced in numerous other tables, such as APInvoice, APTran, APRegister, APAdjust (multiple fields), APTax, TaxTran, APPayment, and many other transactional and summary tables.
Extending the length of this field will require customizing all related tables and fields to support the increased length, potentially affecting areas of the system that may not have been previously encountered in customizations.
