Searchable legacy customer id

When migrating from a legacy system into Acumatica, it is often important to import into a searchable field the previous customerId.
Does Acumatica support this?
If yes, what is the field called? Where displayed?

The customer record has the Ext Ref Nbr field which could be used for this information.
