Can this process below actually be automated?

I have setup a schedule to process all materials purchased from production order and received but there is no Material batch created despite schedule already run.

Hi @kristianharianja

If you press the timer-like signal, you can set up an automation schedule for the screen.

@kristianharianja - please provide a screen shot of how the schedule is configured.

@angierowley75 I am curious to know your findings and if my setup is incorrect. I am testing it in 24R2.

You don’t have anything setup incorrectly.

Please log a ticket with Acumatica support.

The fix might be to remove the Schedule button based on the statement: user interaction is needed on the subsequent Materials batch record; it is not logical to create document(s) that sit on hold until the user interacts later.

Please present your use case to support if you are not in agreement.

@angierowley75 thanks for looking at this.
I think this process is no different to Create Purchase Orders processing page, an interaction is required on the subsequent purchase order record but the schedule is working on this page.

I have created a case to MYOB support and the exact same answer you have I got from them. I am not in agreement.

My client raise purchase order specifically for production use. The items are receipted into the factory then consumed immediately without putting them into stock and create Material batch separately to consume therefore we really need to have the schedule function on the Unreleased Material Allocations to work.

@kristianharianja Thank you for taking the time to reply and provide a use case.  I will work development to see if we can move this forward.  Per our support policy, the fix may not be provided in the version on which you are running.  So you might need to explore having a customization built.

@kristianharianja  When I tested this.. The Unreleased Material Transactions created a batch that was not saved.  To complete the process would require human intervention.

This does not follow the same pattern as Create Purchase Orders that I can see.

@angierowley75 yes I noticed that and that’s what is causing the automation to not working.

However, would it not be better the system is designed to generate Material batch number automatically without saving it manually?

If there is no reason why user is required to save it manually then my opinion the batch should be saved immediately, unless there is a good/valid reason then remove the Schedule option on that page to avoid confusion.

We are now working on a  business event to automatically create the batch because of the automation option cannot be used on that page. I know this event can be done but it would have been much easier to simply turn the schedule on.
