I read through the Acumatica MRP literature, and it clearly states that blanket sales order lines should be reflected in MRP as forecasted demand however I cannot seem to get this to work. Is anyone working with blanket sales orders for manufactured items and able to get them to show in MRP Display?

@frankfiorentino81 what version are you on? The support for Blanket Sales Orders was added with 2022R2.

@Debbie Baldwin

Can you clairfy at what level does MRP look and provide “suggestions” for manufacturing of Blanket Sales order demand?    Does it Look at the Blanket Order,  or does it only look at the child orders?
It appears to us that it is only looking at Child Order Demand, and ignoring the overall demand from the Parent Blanket Order.

The challenge we have is that our customers provide us with a blanket order which includes total quantity and expiration date,  but more often then not, they do not provide us with any release quantities or release dates until closer to their desired shipping date.  Once they provide us with a release shipping date,  we go and add the release to the line details of the blanket order and then create the child order.  At this point MRP sees demand and suggests a WO,  but only for a qty sufficient to cover the child order, and often times we are put in a bind of insufficient time to manufacture.
Ideally MRP would look at the overall demand of the blanket orders and any dates populated on the line details of the blanket order.  At that point the planner would have visability and make a decsion on qty’s to produce…
FYI, we are running 2023-R2 but planning to migrate to 2024-R2 in the near future.

@MattWSM  - MRP will see the quantty but if there is not date then the blanket order line will appear as an exception. You have to populate the Sched Shipment Date for MRP to know when to plan.

@Debbie Baldwin
Thanks for the reply.  It looks like our issue was that we were setting the “Ship On” column of Line details,  not the “Sched Shipment Date” .  I have corrected this on several Blanket Orders and now MRP appears to see everything.
Thanks for the quick reply.
