Question

Tax zone error on PO.

Error: Inserting 'Purchase Order' record raised at least one error. Please review the errors. Tax Zone should be..ON.

The warehouse and branch are both located in ON and the vendor is location in BC.

Error appears from create PO from requisition. Anyway to turn off taxes completely or the work around this for a company with multiple different tax zones per warehouses/branches.

A couple of questions / things to check

  • Do you have the Canadian Localization turned on?
  • What is the Ship To Address of the PO?
  • What settings do you have on the Ship-to-Addresses of the ON and BC tax zones?

Hi @meganfriesen37

to answer your questions below and thank you for the help.

  • Do you have the Canadian Localization turned on? Yes.
  • What is the Ship To Address of the PO? I agree taxes are based on where the product is shipped but on our PO no tax appears on it, it is taken care by the AP team at the time of entering the bill. The ship to address on the PO is to a BC warehouse.
  • What settings do you have on the Ship-to-Addresses of the ON and BC tax zones? In your screen shot the tax zones are based on postal codes. Country is blank.

On the Vendor Info tab of the PO, are you able to change the Tax Zone to the correct tax zone?

Is the warning message you’re receiving a yellow warning or a red error?  I haven’t seen this error before.

when you take a request to a requisition then go to processes and select create PO. When selecting items to buy from a vendor that is listed under a different tax zone a red icon pops up and wont let you go further. Wont even create the PO.

@meganfriesen37 - Hi, come across that issue yourself?

I haven’t seen this error myself.  So I’m a bit stumped on the next steps, so I’d recommend reaching out to your VAR for more support since they can have more information on the detailed setup in your system.
