What is the best way to handle an item that is being discontinued but would like to cross reference to a different item for sales orders. Would “Related Items” be the only way to handle this or is there a difference way?

Using Related Items doesn’t seem to work if the item is set to “inactive”.

Thanks,
Justin

HI @jcox43

So one option you could do, is mark DISCONTINUED in front of the item. If you mark the item with any other status such as Inactive or Marked for Deletion, you will not be able to Substitute it. Mark that the Substitute is Required also and it will force it on the Sales Order.
