Our inspiration in Women's History Month

As Tejal mentioned last week, March is Women’s History Month! So, we’ll be spending the coming weeks recognizing, honoring, and celebrating women who have shattered norms, changed perspectives, and reshaped the world. Today, I wanted to start the discussion by highlighting the women of Acumatica.

Acumatica is committed to hiring talented women and creating a culture in which they can thrive and grow. Recently, for a post on our blog, I wrote about what the women of Acumatica have to say about how we’re building a culture of inclusivity and gender equality and empowering women in tech.

But, of course, it’s not just us. All of you—the incredible women in our Community of customers and partners—inspire and challenge us to strive harder, do more, and reach for new heights every day! And we want to also spend the month of March celebrating you, your achievements, your goals, and the journeys that have led you to this point in your lives and careers.

One of the best ways to celebrate women is to tell and learn from our own experiences. So, to kick off the dialogue, I wanted to ask: Who is the most influential woman to you? Please share with us how she has inspired you. This can be anyone. A historical figure, a world leader, an artist, a literary character, or someone you know personally.

I can’t wait to hear how the lives of other women have helped shape your life and career! Your stories will help inspire us all!

Did this topic help you find an answer to your question?

Happy International Women’s Day! I have many women that have influenced and continue to influence me but one women that continues to have my back is my Mum! She sacrificed her career to raise myself and my 5 siblings (6 kids). Now she is getting back into her career and along the way has shared with me some regrets about not working for so many years. As I raise my own, young, family, she supports me and provides wisdom I often can’t find anywhere else. We are navigating our careers, exploring our passions and fears together and she serves as one of the most impactful mentors in my journey.

@marthagroulx47 Thank you so much ML, happy Women’s Day!

I have so many women I respect in my life… I owe them everything:

  1. My mom. She is my best friend, and she always encouraged me, believed in me and supported me in all of my risky and unbelievable projects. She is a doctor, a pediatrician, and she always worked hard, days and nights. And she was always there when I needed her help. Need her to fly to the opposite side of the world to watch my babies for 6 months because I go back to work? Not a problem. Need her to fly to the Moon to watch my babies there? She already has her suitcase packed! I would never be where I am without her example, inspiration, encouragement and real help. When people say that I’m a hero working with 3 little kids, I say, no, their grandma is the hero.
  2. My oldest daughter. She is 6. And when she was younger, I was always contemplating whether I should continue working, or should I take a break. Should I slow down and have more time, or should I continue growing? When she was 2, I got a very interesting job offer, it would be a big step up for me, being part of the executive team of a very fast growing and hard-working startup. But I had 2 little kids, a 2-year-old, and a 5-month-old, so it wasn’t an easy decision. So, I asked my 2-year-old daughter, should I be a manager or a director? She said: “Mommy, you should be a director. Now give me a cookie”. I’m very thankful to her for this answer, and if she said something else, everything would be different.
  3. My wonderful team members, @AdrianaFlores @JessicaNunesUeno55 @StaceyReitz23 @tejalrastogi83 , who inspire me every day with their hard work and dedication and are one of the reasons I love working here.

Happy International Women’s Day everyone!
