Hello,

I’m facing an issue which  I believe a bug in the system. Have you anyone experienced this? I would appreciate your comments.

Test Scenario

  1. Create an Item with product configurator with few component items.
  2. Set the price of component Items in the price list. ( I have set a customer price class and price is based on price class of the customer)
  3. Create a sales order with the configurable item.
  4. The price of the configured item will be calculated when the item is configured.
  5. Then change the price of the component items in the sales prices and recalculate the prices in the sales order.

This does not change the price of the configured items. I tried unfinish the configuration and finish again. It did not change the prices as well.

Is there any other way to change the prices of the configured items upon price revision? And do you think this is a bug or what is the workaround?

Thank you,

Dulanjana

The issue you’re experiencing with the Recalculate Price function not updating prices for configured items in the Product Configurator may not necessarily be a bug but rather a limitation or expected behavior in Acumatica ERP.

  1. Price Calculation for Configured Items:

    • When a configured item is created in a sales order, its price is calculated based on the prices of its components at the time of configuration. The system may treat the configured item's price as static once it’s calculated and saved.
  2. Impact of Price List Changes:

    • Changes to the price list of component items may not automatically propagate to configured items in open sales orders. The recalculation of prices may only apply to newly added items or changes to standard items, not previously configured or customized items.
  3. Manual Adjustment:

    • While unfinishing and reconfiguring the item does not update the price in your case, you may need to:
      • Manually adjust the price of the configured item on the sales order.
      • Reconfigure the item fully, ensuring that the system re-pulls the pricing logic.
  4. Workaround Options:

    • Script/Customization: You can create a customization in Acumatica to trigger a price recalculation for configured items when their component prices are updated.
    • Automation Rule: Consider setting up an automation rule or inquiry to identify sales orders with outdated pricing, prompting manual review or reconfiguration.

This still doesn’t work in 24R2.
