Physical Inventory - PI Cycle

Forum|alt.badge.img

Is there a way to assign a PI Cycle at the warehouse level, or is it only at the Inventory ID level?

We would like to combine ABC Codes (inventory value) and Movement Class (inventory turns) calculations to assign counting classes.  Aside from calculating on our own and populating the ABC codes with an import scenario has anyone else done this?

As a relatively new ERP consultant, I can offer some thoughts on your Acumatica-related question regarding PI (Physical Inventory) cycles.

  1. The assignment of PI Cycles (Physical Inventory Cycles) in Acumatica usually takes place at the Inventory ID level instead of the warehouse level itself. However, it's possible to manage physical inventory at a warehouse level utilizing Location-specific parameters within each warehouse. You can establish distinct PI Cycle classes and link them to certain Inventory IDs across several warehouses to obtain a more granular level of control. Therefore, you may leverage the warehouse-specific locations to successfully manage the PI cycle even while it's not done directly at the warehouse level.
  2. ABC Codes & Movement Class: A unique solution would probably be required to merge ABC Codes (inventory value) with Movement Class (inventory turns). There is no built-in feature in Acumatica that combines these two to assign counting classes automatically. It's a good idea that you calculate these externally and then use Import Scenarios to fill in the ABC codes. A lot of people utilize Import Scenarios to update their Acumatica data by importing computed values from spreadsheets or other external systems.

You might also investigate the possibility of generating unique Generic Inquiries (GIs) to assess the worth and movement of goods, or even consider crafting Business Events to initiate updates or modifications according to your specified standards.
