Hello friends, I’m Jennifer Douglas. I am a wife, and mother of three, as well as the Information Technology Manager for Tobacco Rag Processors, Wind River Tobacco, and US Tobacco de Mexico. I consider myself a professional chaos manager both at home and work. My children, 18, 10, and 8 are the center of my world and my reason for working as hard as I do. I love attending their club soccer tournaments, piano recitals, school events, and spending time nightly helping with homework and practices. It’s a nonstop full sprint every day and I try very hard to schedule any travel in such a way that I don’t miss the important events. I’ve included photos of my personal circus, from Easter last year, and the annual matching PJs for Christmas, with Pops and my daughters longtime boyfriend getting in on the fun.

I come from a large Italian/Irish/Germain family and as the only girl I thrive in friendly competition. I played sports all through school and to this day don’t back down from a challenge. While I grew up on the Jersey Shore and spent years living in Brooklyn, I have lived in North Carolina since 2011. But as they say, you can take the girl out of the city but can’t take the city out of the girl.

I also tend to be one of those energetic people with a passion for learning. Or as my husband told me after my second graduate degree, I’m a glutton for punishment. I love researching and implementing new ideas, as well as getting my hands dirty with the daily grind. I am a firm believer that I will never ask another person to do something that I wouldn’t do myself and that all people should be treated with dignity and respect.

I’ve been with TRP/WRT/USTDM for three years after spending several years as a legal secretary in lower Manhattan, and then more recently 10 years in software development and project management. My first experience with Acumatica was at Summit 4 years ago when I came as a potential customer and went to my first Hackathon 3 years ago. I was invited to the Developer MVP group after my first Hackathon, and it was game over at that point.

I’ve always made it a point to surround myself with people who are smarter than I am so that I can continue to learn and grow, and the community of developers within the Acumatica ecosystem are a collection of brilliant minds. These connections and friendships I’ve made inspire me daily with their creative solutions to real world problems. I look forward to what the future holds.
