- Value getting sponsors as well as sponsoring others. JJ explained that sponsors are different from mentors, as they can advocate for you and open doors for new opportunities. She also encouraged us to sponsor other women who have potential and talent, and help them grow their careers.
- Manage your self-talk. JJ reminded us that we are often our own worst critics, and that we need to be mindful of the messages we tell ourselves. She suggested that we replace negative self-talk with positive affirmations, and practice gratitude and self-compassion.
- Self-define metrics for your accomplishments. JJ emphasized that we should not let others define our success, but rather set our own goals and measure our progress. She also advised us to celebrate our wins, big and small, and share them with others.
