Hello!

I am trying to get my user defined fields (attributes) on business accounts to copy over to the opportunity when an opportunity is created. Any ideas on how to make this happen?

Thanks in advance :)

@stacy16 in the business accounts screen under customization button in the top you can find the option for UDF field. Please follow the screenshots.

Good morning!

I have already done that :) What i am needing is when we create a business account, we enter the following information..

Then, when we create an opportunity, i would like for those fields to automaticallu transfer from the business account. We are currently entering the same information twice.Once on the business account, and again for the opportunity when we create it.

@stacy16

I don't think this is directly possible without customization. However, you can create a Business Event combined with an Import Scenario to update that field when a new record is inserted into the Opportunity screen.

I was trying the business event and the import scenario.. but I couldnt figure out how to set up the data provider to be a generic inquiry :/

@stacy16

In the existing Business Event, go to the Subscriber tab and select the Import Scenario option. This will prompt you to name the Import Scenario. Once named, it will navigate to the Import Scenario and automatically pull the GI as the data provider.

Please find the screenshots.

If a Business Event works well for you, great. But be warned: using Business Events for this type of scenario can cause a lot of user frustration due to the Business Event running behind the scenes while the record is open, and then throwing the ‘This record has been updated by another process’ when a user tries to save their changes. A customization does not have this limitation.

I am running into that issue exactly.. the business event is not going to work. Any advice on the customization? I have done a few but it seems like every update to a new version takes me back to square one!

Full disclosure, i am not a programmer or anything like that. I am the person who brought ACM on board at the company i work for and was able to implement it from scratch. But at the end of the day, I am just a person that picks thngs up quickly and can panic through just about anything 😁

Thanks!
