Do Snapshots affect performance?

Seeing as Snapshots are stored in the Acumatica database structure it would seem to me that the additional records not only take up storage space but also affect performance when running reports, generic inquiries, etc.

Has anyone found that to be the case or can anyone share some knowledge about why this might or might not impact performance for DB queries?

@Robert Sternberg In General the affect of Snapshot on performance should not be significant however, it depends on the size of data and records in tables. In some cases having too many snapshots makes the queries slower as they should be run on large number of data (specially if there are some custom tables without proper indexing)

Other down side of having too many snapshots would be all different maintenance job including but not limited to backup would take much longer.
