I am new to Acumatica and I am looking to make a bunch of changes to stock items like base unit, valuation methods, Item class, etc. We are building out Acumatica iteratively. This means we need to set things up a certain way. As we build out the system, changes need to be made.I am building out my strategy to draw down inventory, remove them from PO transactions, SO transactions, Quotations, etc. I am not even sure if I have identified all the places that are impacted by these changes. It would be great to have a process that helped with this activity.
We are using hand-held devices to do full physical inventory using the Automated Operation Scan and Count. Sometimes, our Wi-Fi drops connection to the handheld for a moment. We believe this is causing Acumatica to freeze. Acumatica can freeze for several minutes before it comes back online. Is there something we can do to help Acumatica to resolve the connection (without losing our data) when this happens?
We have a blanket PO for 1000 widgets. A requisition is entered for 150 of these widgets. We create a purchase order against the requisition for 150 widgets.Issue: There is no way (I can see) to tie the blanket purchase order to the order just created from the requisition.Resolution #1: We create the purchase order from the requisition. Add another line using “ADD BLANKET PO LINE” to mimic the purchase order line detail. Then delete the purchase order line detail that does not have the blanket PO tied to it.Resolution #2: We allow the requisitioner to enter in a purchase order but it must be approved. We were going to have all departments create requisitions for purchases they need. The purchase order department was going to create the PO’s from these requisitions. We wanted to do this because we want the “Requistioner” on the printed PO we send out (Resolution #1). However, maybe we need to allow departments to enter PO’s and go through the approval process.Anyone have thoughts o
Newbie here…. When managing tenants, the training material says to make sure all users are logged out. However, does this apply to situations like creating a new Tenant and using existing backups, I would not be managing any tenants where users are logged in. I would be creating a new one and using an existing backup. Hope this makes sense. Shawn
Hi All, Newbie here… We set up a cross-reference on a stock item as a “Customer Part Number”. When we we load sales orders via EDI, the process works. Those orders come in with a customer part number and are loaded to the sales using our internal part number. HOWEVER, when we load forecasting data, the cross reference does not work. Our EDI partner says it is erroring out with “Forecast.InventoryID: 'Inventory ID' cannot be found in the system”. We are starting to build a workaround and contingency plans. Can anyone tell me if this is the way Acumatica was designed or is our setup wrong?!?!?! It seems odd to me that the cross reference would work for orders but not for forecasts. Thanks - Shawn
