Question

Report printing extra page

Forum|alt.badge.img

Hi everyone, I think I have thoroughly researched about the topic but cannot seem to find a suitable solution. Anyway, our order confirmation report prints an extra page. The solutions I found are:

  1. To make PrintEmpty and PrintForEmptyGroup set to False.
  2.  Papersize to Letter

To no avail, I am still getting extra page. Is there a way to “hard set” how many line items are printed before it goes to the next page?

As you can see in the screenshot, there are 26 lines items (for the product description field in the line item I changed the properties to CanGrow/ CanShrink/ CanSplit so that the entire description is printed. In this casem line 26 does not have a long description hence in my point of view the footer should print in the first page hence second page should not be printed unnecessarily.

I have attached the report in case you would need reference. Thank you so much for your time.

(Kindly take note I have removed some of the fields for privacy but the spacing is needed hence no section can be minimized/eliminated)

Hi @Crisel ,

You could try setting a VisibleExpr for the PageFooterSection1-Continued defined against a count of detail lines?  Right now it’s always visible, so it would appear on the bottom of the first page no matter what.

Also wondering if it could be some kind of clash between your PrintAtBottom settings?  Right now, you’ve got “PrintOnFirstPage” = True for the Continued section, so it’s always going to print on the first page regardless of anything above it.  I could see this affecting something.

Thanks so much for your input. However, I’m not sure I was able to follow the idea. I was thinking of setting clashing as well. But what gets me more confused is that if I have less line items everything prints in 1page like so.

I tried changing the setting of the PageFooterSection1-Continued by placing a VisibleExpr but still getting the extra page.
