Generic Inquiry - Filter by Current Branch with Automatic Refresh

Hi there,

I’m implementing for a client migrating from Dynamics SL.  The client is really struggling with the fact that all AP Bills and Adjustments for all branches show up in the GI regardless of which branch is logged into.  She wants a restriction so that only the current branch’s documents show in the list.  She has admin rights and access to all branches.

I have figured out how to add both a Parameter and a Condition and it works well, EXCEPT for that fact that it doesn’t refresh the “Current Branch” value when I change branches, but rather it seems to cache the last value.  I need to figure out how to have the filter refresh to the current branch after changing branches.  For example, if I’m logged into Branch A and load the Bills and Adjustments screen, it’s comes up filtered for Branch A.  If I change branches to Branch B and go back in to Bills and Adjustments, it still has the Branch A restriction and that has to be changed manually.  This really isn’t any better than just filtering the Branch ID column using the grid filters.

How can I get this to refresh automatically when I change branches?

Thanks,

Scott

Parameter added for Current Branch
Condition Added for Current Branch
Screen loaded while in Products Wholesale
After switching to Products Retail - filter still Products Wholesale - I need this to refresh automatically

Thanks, I did that but I still get the last filter value in the GI when I change branches.  The user has to update the filter manually.  Same thing can be done just by using the existing column filters, no need to modify the GI.

Would there be a customization that could be applied that would take care of the update when changing branches?

@scottkdc  - To confirm, your screenshot above doesn’t have a defaultvalue set for the parameter,

ASiaBlog acknowledge this is a limitation https://asiablog.acumatica.com/?p=7007
Back in 2019, due to the way result caching works.

This is backed up by https://community.acumatica.com/reports%2Dand%2Dgeneric%2Dinquires%2D115/set%2Dup%2Dreceipt%2Din3010pl%2Dshows%2Donly%2Dthe%2Dtransaction%2Dof%2Dcurrent%2Dbranch%2D28657?tid=28657&fid=115
Where it’s suggested as an enhancement.

If you check the Asiablog post there’s a customization someone wrote that might assist, though I haven’t reviewed it at all. (And you should be security conscious when opening a customization from the internet.)  Does imply someone may be able to customize the business logic for you if you want to engage a development partner.
