Hi everyone,

Is there a way that the condition @me in the generic inquiry be turned off if the login is not equal?

I have created a generic inquiry to see Sales Orders however we want to limit it in which if the Salesperson of the Customer in the SalesOrder is @me, I would only be able to see orders where I am the Salesperson. If not, I am able to see all sales order.

I hope I explained it clearly.

(Note: I’ve included the GI in question. Thank you so much in advance.)

Can you clarify the intended behavior? If a user who is the Salesperson should only see their own sales orders, but any other user can see all sales orders, wouldn’t that mean users effectively have unrestricted access?

Could you help with an example?

Hi @Crisel
I agree with @Robert Sternberg  - more clarification about what you want would be good.

Conceptually, if you’re trying to say “People should be restricted to their own results, unless they’re bob”
You might set up a filter like:
Brackets (left ) = (
User equals @me
Operator = OR
User equals <NAME GOES HERE>
Brackets (right) = )

On the other hand, if you wanted this to be a dynamic toggle then you could set it up as:
Brackets (left ) = (
User equals @me
Operator = OR
[Parameter] equals <VALUE GOES HERE>
Brackets (right) = )

If the intent is for all users to have access to a “just mine or everyone” view easily, then I would generally recommend setting this up as separate saved filters.

Typically, if I was trying to restrict some users to only seeing their own and others to seeing all company, I’d recommend setting up as 2 separate enquiries though (Sales (Mine), Sales (All)), and then using role restrictions to prevent users from reaching the all customers version.
(Exact preference here is up to your business process though).

Hi @Crisel

You may have two separate Generic inquiries. One for the users who would meet the condition and reflect list based on logged on user linked employee.

Second one for users who would not meet the condition for @Me. I assume that they may be set of users based on specific hierarchy/workgroup. You may just grant access to all such users access to second Inquiry which will not have @me condition and reflects all.

Regards,

I’m so sorry Robert Sternberg and WillH that I was not too clear however this is basically it: “just mine or everyone”

Salespeople are assigned to specific customers within the system. When a salesperson logs in, the system restricts their access to only the sales orders associated with those customers they are assigned to. If I am not a salesperson, I am able to see all orders.

I am hoping for a GI condition that can fulfill instead of having 2 separate GI, however it is not working for me.

vkumar: This is what I initially did however I was hoping there might be a way to just do it with a condition in just one GI.

Thanks everyone for your replies.
