Question

Import new BOMs with multiple operations/materials on 22R2

Forum|alt.badge.img

I have an issue importing new boms with Acumatica veriosn 22R2.

We are currently using version 21R1 and we have no issues importing multiple new boms with multiple operations and materials, by just adding a number for the BOM ID (see template below), but with 22R2 version we are getting an error that BOM ID cannot be empty, anyone knows how to make this work?

Hi @ldancziger

In Acumatica 22R2, the import/export scenarios have been improved and some of the behaviors might have changed compared to 21R1.

As per the error message, it appears that Acumatica is not receiving a valid BOM ID during the import process. It's essential to ensure the data being imported properly matches the format and data type expected by Acumatica.

Here are a few things to check:

  1. Verify the Column Settings in your Import Scenario for the BOM ID field. The 'Source Column' should match exactly with your source file. Make sure there are no extra spaces or different capitalization.

  2. Check the data in your import file. Make sure there are no extra spaces, and that it's the correct data type. For example, if it's supposed to be a string, make sure you aren't passing an integer, etc.

  3. If you're using Excel, try saving the file as a CSV to avoid any potential formatting issues that might be happening.

  4. Try testing the import with a minimal set of data, like a single row, and see if the problem persists. If it works with a single row, try gradually adding more data until you can identify what might be causing the problem.

If the issue persists after checking these areas, I would recommend reaching out to Acumatica support or your Acumatica partner for more specific help. They can analyze your exact import scenario and the data you're trying to import to identify any issues.

Thanks for your response @davidnavasardyan09, the thing is that its a copy from the version we are currently using in our live site and this is on a testing site with the upgraded version, so no data changed, meaning this same import works on our live site
