We have a customer that ships in varied box sizes as well as custom sizes to accommodate their products.  The Package entry screen does not allow the user to change the dimensions and there is no option for entering a box on the fly.  How have other users handled this in the Integrated Shipping?

Hi @JNelson79  Yes, In Acumatica, we do not have dimensions fields (Length, Width and Height) for the Boxes in Shipments screen Packages tab. For the Shipping solutions commonly customer will go with the below options.

  • We can have a 3 custom fields (Length, Width and Height) on the Packages tab in Shipments screen, while importing the shipment details from 3rd party shipping solution you sync dimensions to the respective custom fields
  • The other option is like you can create a boxes in the form of LxWxH format, while importing the shipment details from 3rd party shipping solution, you can format the dimensions sync the details.  Ex: Length- 40, Width - 20 and Height - 40 then you can format your box like 40x20x40 format as BOXID and sync the details.

Hope this helps.

Hello Naveen,

Thank you for the response.  So the answer is that the Integrated Shipping in Acumatica will not support this but one of the 3rd party solutions would.

We will see what we can do to work around the limitation.

Yes @JNelson79  Since dimension fields are NOT available in Shipments screen.

Yes, we need to go with the work round solution as per my knowledge.

@Naveen Boga

Hey Naveen-

Is there any chance you can provide some details on how these three custom fields (LxWxH) on shipments screen would override the dimensions of the Box ID selected?

Do you know how we would override the method that passes the Box dimensions to the shipping label?
