New Report not Populating on SIte - how to fix


I recently downloaded the Report Designer. I copied GL.63.30.00 from the server and modified it and then saved to the server as GL.63.30.02 then I went to the site map and added a line for the new report. The problem I get is, the report does not populate on the site. It also doesn't generate when I try typing it into the link (https://globalwide.acumatica.com/(W(29))/Main?ScreenId=GL633002). When I copy the 002 URL into an existing line, it says “You do not have enough rights”.

Also, note, when I reopen the report designer and “open from server” and “load reports lists”, my prior saved report generates. So I believe it is in the server OK. 

I have a feeling I need certain user roles to fix this. Any recommendations?

@Sydneysturtevant New reports, GIs, or other screens newly added to the UI will have default access set to Revoked. You need to go into the Access Rights by Screen and update to allow access for whichever users need to see the report.

@Sydneysturtevant  if you are using upgraded version of Acumatica then by default Access rights for new screen is revoked, You need to grant access. Also if you are creating a new GI then also first you need to published it and grant the access.

I was checking there earlier. I don’t see my report under either Finance or Hidden.

Would it generate here after being added to the site map? I’m wondering if I am searching the wrong name and where this page page pulls the name from.

Do you know where I go to publish? I’m used to opening the report and there being a “Publish to UI” button available. But this report wont generate when I go to the link site.

If you’ve updated the access rights and it’s still not working a couple other things to check would be:

  • Are you running the Canadian Localization?  If so are have you updated the .ca.rpx version of your report?  (This is common for Invoice, Sales Order, Purchase Order, etc. types of reports)
  • What version of Acumatica are you running and do you have the report designer version that is current to your build?  I’ve run into a couple of instances recently where I have customers on 24R1 and I cannot save report updates to their 24R1 server using the 24R2 version of report designer (there’s a couple of posts about this issue as well).

Hi ​@Sydneysturtevant ,

The Publish dialog is used to publish Generic Inquiries and Dashboards.

For custom reports, I’m not aware of a Publish screen.  The procedure that I follow to add a new custom report is:

  1. Save the new report to server from the Report Designer
  2. Add the new report to the Site Map.  If you’re having trouble with this step, you may want to verify that you have at least Insert rights on the Site Map screen.
  3. Assign access rights to the new report screen on Access Rights by Screen.  The position in the Access Rights tree depends on the Workspace that you assigned on the Site Map.  If no Workspace is assigned then the new report will be located under Hidden.

Hey Laura! 

Question on this part. When I go to “Access Rights by Screen”, my report doesn't populate under “Finance” or under the “Finance” → “Ledgers”. When you do this process, does your report automatically show up here with the new page # (Ex:63.30.10)?

Hi ​@Sydneysturtevant ,

It should appear in Access Rights by Screen under Finance (at the top level) if you assign it to that Workspace on the Site Map.  If it’s not assigned to any Workspace, then it will be at the top level under Hidden.

Hi ​@lauraj46 ! I have it assigned on the Site Map but I’m not finding it on the Access by Rights page.  

 

Also, just a note, I assigned the Workspaces/Category of Finance/Reports to the pre-existing report “GWM Transaction for Period/Export” report and saved but that change not reflected in the site map. It still shows under hidden. I wonder if I need special accesses to the “Site Map” side in order for my changes to carry into the Access Rights page.

That’s not the behavior that I would expect. 

I’m not aware of any special rights on the Site Map.  Do you have Delete rights on the Site Map screen?

Maybe someone else on this thread has some thoughts?

@Sydneysturtevant  - just to confirm, what’s your release version of Acumatica?
It’s shown on the login screen before you login ,or in the Tools > About menu option. 
(Just to make sure everyone is same page for what version we’re dealing with.)
