Acumatica Upgrade to 2024 R2 Build 24.207.0011

Hi, All.

 

I am trying to upgrade my 2022 R2 to 2024R2. I am aware that direct increment is not possible so I upgraded my instance to 2023R2 23.220.0007 but when i try from this to my 2024R2 it says 

Upgrade process has been interrupted. The database cannot be upgraded because your current build (23.220.0007) is incompatible with the build (24.207.0011) you want to install. Wait for the next update package that will be compatible with your current build.

 

what should I do in this case? should i go with 2024 R1 first? DO i need to validate and publish customization packages before upgrading to 2024 R2?

Check the release notes for 24R2 and find the compatible builds of 24R1.

Check the release notes of that compatible build of 24R1 to see if you build of 23R2 is compatible with it for an upgrade.

If it is compatible upgrade to that build of 24R1 and then to 24R2

Hi ​@tahayabali, As per Acumatica Release notes for 24 R2 , First You need to upgrade to 23 R1 latest release which is 23.120.0004 from 22 R2.

Then you can upgrade to 24 R2 directly.

You can find the pertinent information in the Upgrade notes section of the Release Notes for 24.207.0011.

What you may want to do is see if you can upgrade to version 2024 R1 (build 24.115.0031 or earlier).

hi All Thanks for the answer. I am following the Release notes but by mistake i have upgraded to  23R2 23.220.0007 now i am unable to downgrade this and i tried every build of 2024 R1 but same error that incompatible.

 

What to do now?

The only options at this point are to wait until a compatible version of 2024 R2 is released, or if this is just a test environment, you could uninstall and start over with the correct version(s).

Yes this is test ENV and i uninstall Acumatica and Then installed the separate version but then it says my instance is new version so install the new version

​@tahayabali this post refers to what you would need to do to downgrade the instance.  I see that you uninstalled the newer version and installed a separate version (hopefully 23R2 build 19 or earlier per the release notes for 24r2 build 8: 

in this post, it says you would need to re-compile the DLLs

another idea would be to deploy a new test environment altogether with the current version (2022R2), restore a snapshot of the production environment, install 23R2 Build 19 or earlier, upgrade that test environment to 23r2, then install 24R2 build 8 and upgrade the test environment again.
