Finding a Suitable Handheld Computer for Acumatica

Hello,

I am wondering if there are any recommended handheld computers that work with the Acumatica WMS app. I came across an article detailing the barcode scanning devices supported by Acumatica’s WMS, but the article is from four years ago, and we are now using Acumatica version 2024 R1.

Article: https://community.acumatica.com/how%2Dtos%2Dand%2Dfaqs%2D240/warehouse%2Dmanagement%2Dfaqs%2Dscanners%2D462

We have the Honeywell CT60 (link) that we purchased three years ago for our previous ERP system and recently used for an inventory count in Acumatica. However, we encountered issues with the number pad, and the Enter key did not function when setting the quantity.

I am curious if anyone has tested other handheld computers that work seamlessly with all functions in inventory counting and picking process.

We use Zebra and are very pleased with them. We used to have generic Android phones with Bluetooth scanners, but as your operation gets bigger, they will slow you down. Rather invest in a good scanner.

I wouldn’t recommend buying any model based on someone's experience here. Every environment is different, and it depends on your specific use case. I would recommend reaching out to a company that does this and work with them and possibly get a sample to test.

PM me if you want a contact of such a company.

We’re just beginning a search as well, curious what others are using.  We currently do Pick/Pack/Ship at our main DC, but we pick to carts so we were able to setup 10” Android tablets and handheld bluetooth barcode scanners on the carts.  We want to start rolling out Receiving and other WMS functionality, and we really need something more portable for that.

HI @Dawood

The list you posted is pretty outdated. I asked on that post for an update to newer models.

I have users who really like zebra products, however they seem to be pricier.

Have you looked at iphones or androids? I know tablets are less expensive and work well.
