2024 R2 Mark for Production

Has anyone encountered this issue in 2024 R2? I have a sales order marked for production, and after completing the associated production order and moving the inventory into stock, Acumatica doesn’t pull that specific inventory when creating the shipment. Instead, it pulls inventory using FIFO or location priority, ignoring the production order inventory.

Example:

  • Sales Order 123 has one line marked for production, with the Production Order linked - XYZ.
  • Production Order XYZ is completed, and the inventory is moved into stock to location ABC (via the Move Transaction on the Production Order).
  • When creating the shipment, Acumatica pulls inventory from another location, even though the sales order’s line details so the associated move.

I don’t recall seeing this issue in 2024 R1. Has anyone else experienced this?

@ngerst, from what I see in 2024R1, when a non tracked inventory item is received from a linked purchase order or production order into a location that is not the default issue from location, the shipment uses the default location.

Are you seeing the same behavior with linked purchase orders as well?

Yes I am seeing different behavior.

I have a part that I have used in 2024 R1 and 2024 R2 and it’s functioning differently. I did a move transactions into a final location for shipment - location 23 for both. In R1, when I create the shipment from the Sales Order the Shipment defaults to location 23 since that is where the linked production order material is. In R2, it seems to be pulling in a FIFO format for the exact same steps, but location 23 is not the location it pulls from. Same inventory levels and all in both scenarios.

@ngerst

I would suggest logging a support request

@Chris Hackett

He no longer is in the Acumatica space. I know the company he previously worked for 😀
