Making Expense Receipt fields read-only after approval


After my previous question about approvals, we have a new issue.

The solution we are wanting to go with moves the Finance approval to the beginning of the queue, rather than the end. Our PMs and department heads aren’t (usually) going to make changes to items.

The new problem that arises is that several of the items on Expense Receipts are still editable, even after the approval process has started.

  • Project Number
  • Project Task
  • Tax Category
  • Expense Account
  • Expense Sub
  • Sales Account
  • Sales Sub

How can I make these read-only AFTER the approval process has started (in other words, how do I force users to have to put the document back on Hold status in order to make changes to these fields)?
