Hi All,

Just exploring the Capable to Promise Functionality.

While looking at the screen it seems that the system can do this for all Sales order Types if the Item is a CTP Item.

When creating a SO and a QT for the same item, only the SO Order Type shows up as available for Processing.

Does anyone know if only certain Order Types are eligible for this?

Not quite sure why the Quote would not be available when that is the most common stage needing a Date for the Customer.

The CTP functionality actually schedules the production of the MFG item if the date is accepted.  It was assumed during design you would not want to block the schedule for a quote as the quote may or may not be converted to a sale.

HI @krausef77

Out of the box Quotes do not have the CTP functionality. The only other way would be a customization.

Have you thought about maybe using the Description field on the header for that?

You could also create a future idea for Acumatica to include in a release.

@kandybeatty49 @angierowley75 Thank you both for the Input.
That makes sense, yet some functionality for a Quote to have the same capability would be great and very helpful.

I will create an idea and potentially explore Customization options.

Is Capable to Promise available on the SO screen without the MFG module? Only for Dist companies?

@eshahid05 - Capable to Promise uses the scheduling engine (APS) of the Manufacturing module - it calculates how long it would take to produce the manufactured good based on capacity and competing priorities.

CTP is not available without the Manufacturing module because the logic is very specific to manufacturing scheduling.
