Hi, I am trying to add a new status called “voided” in the cash sales screen. Right now when I click on the Reverse button, it takes me to the ‘closed’ status. But if I reverse it, I would like it to show ‘voided.’ I did what this community post said but had no luck: Add new status value to Service Contracts | Community

I am currently modifying a copy of the Default workflow in customization for this screen and this is what I have:

Can someone help me understand what I am missing please?

Thanks!

Ok, I found the issue. Because the ‘Reverse’ action opens a new screen, it isn’t saving the workflow changes. Do this:

  1. Create a new workflow action which triggers the move to Voided state
  2. In the new workflow action definition, add ‘Reverse’ to ‘Actions Executed On Success’
  3. Add ‘Reverse’ to the Voided state Actions tab (otherwise you’ll get an error that the action is not available

This works for me.

I don't think you should need to specify updating 'Status'. I think the workflow will do that automatically because 'Status' is the state field.

Was your new workflow set as the active one and published?

HI @darylbowman Yes, it was set as active and published. When the reverse button is hit, status still shows ‘closed’ instead of ‘voided.’

If needed, here is the Customization Project we are working with. We have tried creating multiple different workflows, the “Void” workflow is what’s shown in the screenshot.

Thanks!

I’m not sure if this is intentional or not, but in your customized workflow, ‘Closed’ shows up as a nested state under H->B:

I created a new workflow inheriting from the system default, and after adding the transition from Closed to Voided, it looks like this:

I suspect this may be your issue. Was nesting intentional?

@darylbowman Nesting was not intentional. Since the other states were also under the nested states, we kept “closed” under it as well. However, we did create a different workflow in that same project where there are no nested states at all, this did not work either. I will try again with what you showed. Thanks!

@darylbowman Hi, unfortunately ‘Closed’ being under nested states may not be the issue. I created a new workflow inheriting from the system default that looks like yours and left it out of the nested states, the status still shows closed when I hit “Reverse.”

Hi @darylbowman,

The one issue I have still is that the status of the document does not change unless I go back and hit the reverse button again (after it has been reverses once), then say ‘no’

Then it tells me the process results and changes the status to Voided

Is there a way to get this so I do not need to go back and hit Reverse again for this outcome?

Workflow that has gotten me closest to desired result

Void Status under BOTH “Actions Executed on Success” and “Triggering Actions”

Reverse (Void Check) under BOTH “Actions executed on success” AND “Triggering Actions”

Thanks,

RJ
