Question

Update multiple matching rows with an Import Scenario

We are trying to run an import scenario to update all rows in Forecast that match our criteria.  We have the following XLS data provider.

And this import scenario:

There are multiple records for each inventory ID as well as each warehouse, that differ by the begin/end date.  We want to update all records that match the inventoryid and warehouse specified in the data provider but the import scenario only updates the first match and moves on to the next record.

How do I configure the IS to match all records instead of just the first match?

Thank you in advance.

Matthew

The Forecast grid has a hidden ForecastID field that is used as the key for the records.

Because of that the grid allows to even enter duplicate records and also records having overlaps.

The only accurate way to update the records would be to expose the Forecast ID and export is as part of the data, then use the Forecast ID to update the corresponding records.

I’m not sure Import Scenarios are capable of that. There are two possible workarounds:

  1. Process the import multiple times until there are no records left; it shouldn’t reprocess records marked as processed, so eventually it should get to them all
  2. Use a GI to mass update the value (I’m not sure what screen you’re on, so I can’t confirm this is even possible, but if you’re just toggling a box, if you can map it to an entry screen, it is likely to be)

Edit: missed @Samvel Petrosov’s answer. Try that.
