Is there a way to include the record note when Export to Excel?

Hi @jechang  By default Acumatica grid Export Excel button will not export the NOTE TEXT.

As a workaround, you can create a GI and join with the NOTE table like below and export the Note Text.

Please find the screenshot for reference.

This is not working for me. Was anyone successful on exporting the notes from COA?

@tnrecaj Hi!

I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking about with COA, but I can speak to how to get the notes out of a DAC. In this example the note I wanted was in INItemLotSerialInfo, and I linked it with the DAC called CSAnswers [I named it QCNotes but it’s still CSAnswers].

You link that with the noteID to the refNoteID
and then the CSAnswers.AttributeID will need to equal what in the CSAnswers table. In this example it’s called ‘QCNOTES’.

if you want to find out what that ID is, the easiest way I’ve found is to go to the DAC schema browser. Search of CSAnswers and find an example of what you’re looking for. Then using the exact same name!

We have our chart of accounts and we added Notes so people can see what the GL accounts are used for. I am trying to export the COA along with those notes to Excel so I can distribute to people and I have been trying to com up with a way to do it but not successful.

Ah! I think I got you. This’ll be a long one, but you’ll really know how to do it in the future!

So I clicked on my note icon in chart of accounts and added a note

then I went to inspect the element on account to get which DAC I was using.

Then I added the DAC I wanted data from and the Note DAC and joined them like this

And then in the results. I added both the notetext and notepopuptext lines to see which one the note I wanted counted as.

And it turns out it was NoteText! So all i would need to do is change the caption, or leave it alone if that doesn’t matter.

Does that help?

Good morning lunarchickadee

You are right this was hard because I can’t find majority of the things you’re showing. First, I couldn’t find the “Element Properties” then my Generic Inquiries look slightly different from yours and I was Trying to build one and on the Data Sources, I wasn’t sure what Source name to pick and by the way yours says “Table” and mine says “Data Sources”. Is there a way we can have a quick call on teams or zoom so you can walk me through? Only if it’s not too much trouble. My e-mail is tome.nrecaj@mblandscape.com

Your help is truly appreciated it.

Hmm, before we go further. Which version of Acumatica are you using?
